Inclement Weather Policy and Other Reminders

Many of us woke up to a bit of snow today, so it's a good opportunity to remind everyone of our Inclement Weather policy. During the winter months, please check your email before leaving your warm house, as we will send out an email if classes need to be cancelled. You'll also find information posted here and on our  Facebook page . Our inclement weather policy: In general, we follow Carroll County Public School policy. When Carroll County schools closed due to a weather event, Sure Foundation will automatically cancel classes. If Carroll County schools are are on two-hour delay, we will also follow our delay schedule.  Sure Foundation Christmas Party and Spirit Day is Thursday, December 19th! Wear your Ugly/Goofy Christmas Sweater or Hat and we will vote on the worst (ugliest), weirdest, and funniest for prizes. (All sweaters must be appropriate!) Vote by the end of lunch. Trick or Treat! Costume Day on October 31st

Costumes are welcome at Sure Foundation on October 31st! This coming Thursday is Halloween, and the first of our Sure Foundation Spirit Days. So come to class in costume if you'd like. Remember that costumes must be modest and non-gory. Keep it clean and fun! Classes will take place as usual, so costumes should not get in the way of classwork. Donations of candy bars are needed for the snack bar. These can be dropped off at the table in the entry. Bring your coats to donate to Shepherd's Staff Call for Coats - There will be a bin in the entry to collect donations for the next three weeks. Questions? Please Note - No Kitchen Available This Week

The kitchen at Kirkridge is getting roof work done tomorrow! Please park away from the kitchen end of the building. Make use of the lower lot as much as possible. We will not have use of the kitchen, so plan for lunch accordingly. Bring a cold lunch and eat in the pavilion. First Day 2019

Classes begin on Thursday, September 5th! We are looking forward to another great year at Sure Foundation! The Sure Foundation calendar page has been updated to include class times and locations. Students ~ remember your books and supplies! Parents ~ thank you for helping out in the various volunteer roles. We do need donations of candy, chips, snack items, and bottled water to sell in our Snack Bar (This is our only income for supplies and other needs of Sure Foundation). Check with instructors if you have any last-minute questions, or need to make payment arrangements. Last Call for High School Registrations!

Registration is still open for High School classes, but the deadline is coming soon! We can still accept registrations until Monday, August 26th.  It's not long now until the 2019-2020 homeschool year at Sure Foundation Homeschool Tutorial begins! Everyone who has registered for classes is invited to the Kickoff Picnic on August 29th. Check your email for details! This is a fun event, but also your opportunity to meet teachers and classmates, and get answers to any questions you may still have. This year we've scheduled time at the Kickoff Picnic to give teachers, parents, and students a chance to meet in the classrooms where specific information about the classes and expectations can be shared. By now, you've probably heard from your teachers with some information about the classes. Classes begin on September 5th, so make sure you have the textbooks required for each of your classes. Textbooks are listed in your Registration packets. Contact your instructors

Science Fair Today - And Co-op News

Don't forget the Science Fair TODAY! Thursday, April 11th 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Our Middle School General Science class and High School Chemistry class will have projects to display.  Coming Up in May: CHSF is sponsoring a FREE Homeschool Fair on May 11th. Save the date and make plans to come find out more about all the groups and resources for homeschool families right here in Carroll County! Sure Foundation will have a display at this event, so watch for a sign-up coming soon to help us out. Science Fair - April 11th

Thursday, April 11th 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Our Middle School General Science class and High School Chemistry class will have projects to display.  All grades are welcome to participate and invited to view the projects! Participants must have a tri-fold and a table display, have accompanying research and bibliographic information, and will present a two minute oral report to a small group. Open House/Registration - Thursday, March 14th

Sure Foundation Homeschool Tutorial extends a warm welcome to our Open House event this week! Registration will open on Thursday, March 14th at our Open House. Join us to find out more about Sure Foundation and the classes we'll offer for the 2019-2020 school year. Classes on Two Hour Delay Schedule Today

Sure Foundation classes will be on a two hour delay schedule on Thursday, February 21st! Co-op families should have received an email with details and an updated schedule for the day. High school classes will begin at 10 instead of at 8. All classes will still meet, with the exception of Latin, French, and World History. With the snow and cold weather we are experiencing today, it's a good opportunity to remind everyone of our Inclement Weather policy. Please check your email before leaving your warm house tomorrow morning! If the church parking lot is not safe and accessible, we will need to cancel. Our inclement weather policy: In general, we will follow Carroll County Public School policy. When Carroll County schools closed due to a weather event, Sure Foundation will automatically cancel classes. If Carroll County schools are open but the church parking lot is not accessible, we will cancel for the day. What's New at Sure Foundation Homeschool Tutorial

We're kicking off the second semester this week with Crazy Sock Day! Coming Up! Save the dates for our upcoming Open Houses and Registration! On Thursday, February 14th, we welcome interested families for our Informational Open House. This is an opportunity to observe our classes, meet teachers and co-op families, and get the advance news on the classes we're planning for the 2019-2020 school year. Registration for current Sure Foundation families will open on February 28th. A second Open House is planned for Thursday, March 14th, and registration will be open to all families.
